This very distinctive piece was purchased several years ago from an antique shop at the American Colony Hotel in East … more This very distinctive piece was purchased several years ago from an antique shop at the American Colony Hotel in East Jerusalem. Described by shop as "old Syrian table made of copper and prass (sic) and silver inlaid it's (sic). (W)as used to heat the house. There is a small door in the table to put the charcoal and (at) (sic) the same time to use it as a table as well."
There appear to be "tabs" inside the table which could be used to place a metal shelf which might hold embers. less
