Kjeld Ulrich
Born in Odense Denmark 1942
Graduated from Odense Fine Art Academy in 1974
Specialising in painting and printmaking, Ulrich develops his artistic vision through what could be described as expressionist idiom, visually crossing between Wilhelm Freddie surrealism and Hans Hartungs expressionism, both of whom were 20th century experimentalists.
In painting, Ulrich uses a collage-like technique in which individual motifs are featured initially, but gradually obscured through the upper layers of dripping, scratching cleaners, loose brushstrokes or regular drawing.
