There is a drainage hole on the base. This is a very rare and highly collectible confit pot with the drippy glaze. This pot or planter is hand thrown with charming handles known as 'ears'. These jars were used for storing and preserving cooked meat. It displays beautifully, perfect with a bouquet of flowers or used in the kitchen to hold utensils. It would also look fabulous in a grouping with other confit pots of various sizes, as shown in the last photo. See less
