These birds are more commonly found decorated in brilliant greens and other colors and it is refreshing to find this pair in a more refined decoration composed of blanc de chine and a pale celedon and pale brown. In Chinese Culture, The phoenix represents power sent from the heavens to the Empress. If a phoenix was used to decorate a house it symbolized that loyalty and honesty of the people that lived there.
