The 2000 Haitian Village (Field Gathering), is an original and unique art work composed by noted Haitian Artist, Martino Dorce. The artist used for this one of a kind art work Mixed Media, with the focus on original pen and ink water colors, on rag paper. Furthermore, this art piece uniqueness lies within its size. This art piece significantly larger size, compared to the many other art works of Dorce, was a deliberate choice made by him. By using a uniquely large rag paper, the artist was empowered to capture the collective true beauty and spirit of the villagers and environment he grew up loving endlessly. This custom framed art piece, is signed, and dated, by the artist. His signature is located at the front of the art work, on the lower right corner or the painting.
Regarding the size of this art work, this piece measurements are 40.5 inches x 25.5 inches. The measurements with the frame are 50inches x 34.5 inches. This piece is enclosed in a custom wooden black frame, with backing, and is in excellent condition.

Dorce transports the viewer to a tropical paradise that is at once colorful and innocent, while simultaneously portraying strength and sophistication. To his lush, detailed pen and India ink drawings, he adds layers of rich watercolors until he achieves vividness not usually associated with these particular media.
About the artist: Born in 1943 in Port-au-Prince, a talented Martin Dorce supported himself at the age of 10 by selling his artworks to tourists at the Iron Market. Martino Dorce attended the Ecole Nationale Tertulien Guilbaud primary school and was a student of Joseph Tony "TiTonTon" Moise, who has exhibited worldwide. Dorce has exhibited in his native Haiti and in the US. In 2007, Dorce illustrated the book "De'Monte Love", which tells the true story of a young boy who cares for his siblings and friends after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Now living in California, the Artist is well recognized for his unique style in capturing the beauty of his homeland and its people. After detailed pen and India ink drawings, he adds layers of rich watercolors until he achieves vividness not usually associated with the medium. The work of Martino Dorce is held in galleries and numerous private collections. less
