Retired Southern California freeway sign c. 1990s in original condition. These signs were made from aluminum, ideal for withstanding adverse weather conditions without rusting or warping. At 36” x 72”, it is large enough to be visible from the road and makes for a unique statement piece.
Ventura is a beach city on the Southern California coast approximately 70 miles from downtown Los Angeles. It has long been a weekend and summer refuge for city dwellers looking to escape the heat, experience some peace and quiet, and enjoy a nice ocean breeze (and golf too, of course). The colors blend perfectly with indoor foliage.
Acquired from a Southern California antiques dealer, this sign was once mounted on the 101, 118, or 126 freeway.
The sign is riveted to a frame of welded girders. It can be mounted to the wall using the girders or using the four holes that traverse the sign face. less
