The eglomise panel – reverse painting on glass - has a pretty gilt geometric design against a black background framed in a pale blue, colors that create a lovely contrast.
Pier mirrors were first used in the 18th century, designed to hang between windows to add natural light to a living space in a time when interiors did not have the benefit of electricity.
A piece that is elegant in its symmetry and classical ornamentation.
