The head in the form of a stylized dolphin or carp holding a pearl in its mouth.

Later in his career, Hartz joined forces with Edmond Plisson to form the firm of Plisson et Hartz (which proved extremely successful at marketing Hartz's remarkable Art Nouveau designs in gold and enamels).

Fully hallmarked to the pin stem for Hartz et Cie and numbered 6656.
