Vintage signed serigraph art print that looks like wood pattern with vibrant colors. Hand signed, titled, dated and numbered by the artist in pencil. Come with gallery CoA. Edition number 36/95.
Artist statement:
“Most all of my images come from nature and occasionally from dreams. Some of my images are views from planes, some things I look at under the microscope, but most are from direct and close observation of natural surroundings and objects. Color has always been an important element in my work, as well as textures.”
Norbert Irvine grew up in Lexington, Virginia and received his BA from Washington and Lee University. He earned his MA from Claremont University in California and his MFA from East Carolina University. Having served for 35 years in various capacities in the educational systems (public school, higher education professor and Art Consultant for NC Dept of Education).
From 1970-1990 he was a dedicated and skilled silkscreen printmaker. In 1990, he returned to mixed media painting which he continues to actively persue today. His works are in over 4,000 private and corporate collections throughout the country.
