Really cool object to have on a bookshelf or in a child's bedroom, as a nightlight or decor.
Purchased in Italy in the mid 80s, and made in Italy by the geographical institute in Novara
It measures 14" high x 10" x 9"
The bulb is replaced by disengaging the globe from the meridian at the poles (photo #7). The bulb needed is an E14 base. We have replaced the bulb with an 1.5W LED bulb, which should last many hours, and we will include an extra bulb.
