Contemporary Carved Mahogany Half Tester Queen Size Bed, last quarter 20th c. Features serpentine finialed half tester with a pierced-scrolled applique, on turned tapered reeded octagonal posts, flanking a large arched headboard with a grape, bird and flower crest, above double arched panels, two wooden rails and a serpentine footboard with applied leaf and scroll carving. The design is inspired by a New Orleans bed from the middle of the 19th century.
