It was my grandmothers, it … more This is a Frank Whiting Sterling Silver Champagne or Wine Cooler with Clear Crystal/Glass Insert. It was my grandmothers, it is the only one Ive ever seen. Whiting produced a similar looking Champagne Coasters in the collection circa 1896-1940.. This has two small chips to the glass liner ( see photos) When we used it, the ice and bottle generally covered the chips in liner. The silver container has a dent in the side (see Photo) Light tarnish and light scratches with age. Simple pierced designed band along top under a rolled silver lip. It sits on 4 ball feet. The under side of Silver basket has dents and displays maker mark for Frank Whiting, Sterling. It is simple design that works with any silver pattern or table setting. Approx dimensions.. Overall 6 1/2" in diameter X 4 3/4" High. Please ask for detailed photos. less
