The choice of flame mahogany veneer used on the top and the 2 drawer fronts is fabulous. Its hard to tell in the photos but the top is the same color as the drawers etc. It looks lighter no matter what I do. The grain is beautiful. Drawers are hand dovetailed construction as expected. Both drawers are fitted with small compartments in the front. Stand is 18 1/4" wide and 17 1/4" deep and stands 28 1/2" tall. Piece was recently refinished and has a nice soft sheen. Piece is ready to place and use. less
