More about Holland. Formerly a suburban stay-at-home wife and mother and consummate social hostess, she became a professional artist splitting her time between a small apartment near Broadway in NYC and a tiny fisherman’s cottage on the coast in Connecticut - eventually showing in over 100 shows from 1981 to 2018. Her work reflects her dual landscapes, often adding layers of media to paint and stripping it back down - creating layers and evoking time.

Her work presages that of current contemporary artists, including William McClure. Contemporary pieces that are becoming classics.

Frame is very hefty gold wood and gesso. An impressive piece. See less
