They have a high back with … more Offered is a set of four Frederick Duckloe & Brothers Windsor style Captain’s chairs. They have a high back with a leather back rest and nail head detail. As with all Duckloe furniture they are made of solid wood having a cherry seat and legs and the arms and back spindles from white oak. Duckloe Windsor chairs have always been highly sought after for their style and quality construction. There are no screws or mechanical fasteners used in their construction. The chairs are assembled using only glue and split spindles and wedges as were used over 150 years ago. The seats are carved out to be ergonomically comfortable to sit in without the use of cushions. Since they are no longer in production the only place to find them today is on the secondary market. These chairs are from an estate in Allentown Pennsylvania. As with all preowned furniture they do have some light wear marks and signs of use commensurate with use and age. These chairs had experienced some finish loss to the seats and have had the finish restored on the seats. They have also received a new coat of clear lacquer. They are sturdy and with care should provide generations of use for your home and family. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description.
