This is a large Black Forest Hunter's cuckoo clock, the edifice form headed by two eaves over a carved horn enclosing the white Roman numeral dial, flanked by a carved rabbit and a pheasant hunting trophies, atop a hunter's pouch, en suite with pendulum. The wooden part is 29" high, 23" wide and 10" deep. The elaborately detailed game decoration carvings are excellent with fine surface detail. It is not easy to find work of such quality easily.
The original movement seems to have been replaced in the past. The current 1-day movement is made in Germany by Regula. It is in working condition, but may need cleaning and adjustments to get the correct cuckoo and gong sounds at the correct times. I was able to adjust the pendulum length to get accurate times, but after shipping some adjustments may be again necessary. Also, cuckoo clocks are very sensitive to how it is mounted on the wall. Some adjustments of the pendulum and clock orientations will be need in the final location where it will be used. In any case, the value of this clock is in the beautiful wood carvings. The movement can be easily replaced is desired at a small cost.
