Purchased at an antique shop outside of Philadelphia. We later used it as a foot stool. It has scuffs and bumps, but it is hefty and very sturdy. I cannot say for sure who crafted it or where it was made. It is a rough hewn wood, most likely made regionally in Eastern Pennsylvania or Ohio.
