1930s Art Deco gold-washed link bracelet, Germany. Elliptical geometric open-center links alternate with round frames holding serrated-bezel-set cabochons of open-back blue cats-eye chalcedony art glass, joined by oval etched connectors. The art glass tones are the stars here -- their translucent softness belies their hidden depths, as the mobile "cats eyes" whisper across and through the stones as light flows around them, seductive and sensuous. And the simple links are subtle but distinct, with an intriguing interplay of angles and curves, with a warm matte gold patina. This is an elegant and singular expression of Deco design. Not signed, but I've had a number of similar bracelets in my collection over the years, many of which were marked "Germany". Condition is lovely, and it still has the original thumbnail ring clasp, which is quite rare to find intact and functional. Please note the smaller size (this one is for all you folks with smaller wrists who can never find bracelets in your size, lol): 6.5"L x 0.65"W x 0.4"H. less
