Early 1900s antique Edwardian German sterling, chrysoprase & marcasite brooch. An enormous square of curve-beveled chrysoprase is surrounded by an open-work foliate frame encrusted with marcasites. The stone is exceptional, a resonant translucent green that glows from within; held in place by arrow prongs carefully set with marcasites. A meticulously hand-crafted work of art, a subtle masterpiece that nonetheless commands attention. An exquisite example of Edwardian elegance and poise. Signed "Germany Sterling". 1.5" L x 2" W
