1840s Georgian 10K gold brooch with semi-precious stones. Deeply three-dimensional baroque design w/ crimped-bezel-set amethysts, turquoises, garnets, and pearls; an etched dangle is centered w/ a collet-set cabochon garnet. An unusual design element: double pin-backs to keep the brooch from tilting when worn; and attached w/ a fine chain is the original safety stick-pin topped w/ a seed pearl. All stones original, condition is impeccable throughout. A museum-worthy offering, singular and exquisite, an expressive and luxurious example of long-ago elegance and grace. 1.75" L x 2.2" W x 0.75" H less
