A stunning original antique French mantle clock featuring a gilt bronze case, bevelled glass, exquisite Sèvres style porcelain panels with pompadour rose pink & light blue foreground & royal blue porcelain clock topper with an image of a mandolin. This was made 1851-52 and has the Japy Freres Grand Medal of Honor from the Great Exhibition, London on the clock movement. Beautifully modelled in the classical style of Louis XVI with scrolling brackets,wreathing acanthus leaves, and French shield with two fleur de lis. Maker is printed on the clock face but is too faint to read. Clock weighs 12 lbs, is 18" high, 12" wide, and 6" deep. less
