Pair of large Cocucho vases signed "Herlinda Remigio 10 Feb 00 #5, Cocucho Mich. Mexico). These are nearly 4 feet high and absolutely stunning. This style of pottery is singular to Cocuchio and is crafted from a mixture of volcanic ash, clay, sand, and water. The surfaces bear marks of the wet stones and corn cobs used to smooth the surface, which you can see in the closeup photos. They are then baked over a charcoal fire, lending to the rich texture and coloring.
Truly stunning in both aesthetics and scale.
