This stool was originally designed by Arne Jacobsen (Danish, 1898-1976) in 1955. The 3187 counter height stool has a minimalist, elegant form and features a tubular chromed steel base with a four-sided footrest affixed to the extended legs. The natural cherry wood seat with its signature shape is made from nine layers of pressure moulded veneer for strength, flexibility and durability. The 3187 counter stool was relaunched in 2005 to honor the 50th anniversary of the Series 7 design and is the most popular model within Fritz Hansen’s chair collection.
