A glass ruffle rim bowl designed by Swedish glass artist Lars Hellsten (1933-2022) for Orrefors. Made in Sweden, this ruffled edge bowl has a cobalt and light blue ribbon that intersects the clear body that rests upon a round foot. The bowl is signed “Orrefors LH 494S1/2” to the underside.
Lars Hellsten joined Orrefors as a designer in the early 1970s after working with Skruf Glassworks. Hellsten's work is represented in several museums including the National Museum in Stockholm, the Nordic Museum, the Halland Cultural History Museum and he made several installations over the years for hospitals and hotels. less
