It features a steel frame … more A swedish geometric modernist floor lamp, model 145, produced by eskilstuna elektrofabrik in the 1950s. It features a steel frame with three gooseneck arms, each holding a conical lampshade covered in swedish handwoven linen textile. Each shade has an individual light switch on the bakelite lamp holder. The lamp bears the eskilstuna elektro-fabriks hallmark underneath the base. Very little is known about the lighting manufacturer eskilstuna elektro-fabriks ab, which is surprising given that the company produced several iconic lighting fixtures in the mid-20th century. The factory was founded in 1944 in the town of eskilstuna, about 90 kilometers west of stockholm. The director was industrialist and entrepreneur k-g lorentzon, but due to sparse documentation, no information is available about the designers behind the modernist fixtures produced in eskilstuna during the 1950s and 60s.
