This Mark Rothko very rare vintage 1979 Mid Century Modernist lithograph print custom framed Abstract Expressionist iconic exhibition poster " Violet, Black, Orange, Yellow on White and Red " 1949, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Modernist poster print is published by The Los Angeles County Museum of Art. printed in 1979 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the " 1903 - 1970 : A Retrospective " iconic exhibition. It features an Abstract Expressionist artwork image originally created by Rothko in 1949 titled " Violet, Black, Orange, Yellow on White and Red ".
This is a rare opportunity for true Mark Rothko, Mid Century Modernist, and Abstract Expressionist fans and collectors all, as this coveted image exhibition poster print is long out of print and very scarce to find.
Mark Rothko ( 1903 - 1970 ) is an American Modernist painter of Russian Jewish descent. Although Rothko himself refused to adhere to any art movement, he is generally defined as an Abstract Expressionist. His bold use of color fields make the artworks impressively iconic and highly individual. Rothko is considered to be one of the most important and influential American painters of The Twentieth Century. Artworks by Rothko are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print framed Abstract Expressionist exhibition poster print measures 22 3/4" W X 33 3/4" H X 1 3/8" D.
It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglas in a Contemporary Modern matte brushed brass finish gold tone metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age and very light signs of handling.
