Worked in various shades of red, blue and yellow enamels depicting three large peonies under a tree of cherry blossom, behind stones adorned with speckles of gold, all on a background of rare white enamel. The solid metal box with silvered interiors featuring engraved sparrows amid long romantic willow leaves. The sides of the boxes are adorned with lapis colored flowers. This is a very finely made box with intricate details and classical Japanese artistry. In excellent condition. less
