These are an amazing set of decorative collector plates that show the glorious scenes of American life. American artist, Aloph Dehn, created scenes that showed American regionalism and social life, in glorious colors. The scene created for each plate is iconic to each state. Each plate is 10 1/2" in diameter with a lovely gold rim and circle around scene. This collection was created exclusively for B. Altman's in New York City. They were the go to department store for luxury and designer items, until they closed all stores in 1990. The plates that are in this set are as follows:
