61245 Vintage Persian Nahavand Hamadan Rug, 04'08 x 09'10. This captivating hand knotted wool vintage Persian Nahavand Hamadan rug invites you into a world where intricate symbolism and masterful craftsmanship intertwine. The allover pattern on the rug's field is a rich tableau of tribal symbols and geometric shapes, each carefully knotted by hand in luxurious wool. Dominating the field, the tree of life motif stretches majestically, flanked by rows of stylized floral sprigs that offer a delicate balance to the rug’s robust design. The deep red background enhances the vibrancy of the motifs, while earthy tones of brown and green add a natural harmony to the composition.
As your eyes travel across the rug, you’ll notice the presence of ancient symbols such as the Ying-Yang, signifying balance and duality, and Ram’s Horn motifs, representing strength and resilience. The diamond lozenges scattered throughout the field serve as womanhood and warding off negativity and guiding the viewer toward prosperity. The hooked comb ladder motifs provide a rhythmic flow to the design, symbolizing the male's role in protection. Each motif is intricately connected, creating a narrative that speaks of the weaver’s cultural heritage and artistic vision.
Framing this mesmerizing field is a border that is equally rich in detail. The primary border is adorned with a series of rosettes and serrated leaves, their sharp outlines and vibrant hues adding depth and movement to the rug. These serrated leaves, or "swords," are a common motif in Persian rugs, symbolizing protection and power. The border is further flanked by an inner and outer meander rosette guard band, each rosette blooming with meticulous detail, guiding the eye along the edges of the rug, creating a perfect frame that encapsulates the story woven within.
This Nahavand Hamadan rug is more than just a floor covering; it is a piece of history, a work of art, and a testament to the skill and creativity of Persian weavers. Its rich symbolism and vibrant colors make it a striking focal point in any room, while its durable wool pile ensures it will be a treasured piece for generations to come. The intricate design elements and harmonious color palette reflect the nomadic charm and cultural depth of Persian rug-making traditions, making this woven wonder a truly enchanting addition to any home.
