Late Georgian Period - Circa Very Early … Read more A Beautiful Matched Set of 6 Antique Early American Coin Silver Coffee Spoons. Late Georgian Period - Circa Very Early 1800s. Each Completely Hand Made with Hand Engraved Features. The Coffin Style Handles have the Early Block Letter Style Engraved H. B. Monograms. They have No Maker or Other Marks. The Early American Silver Makers adopted the Coin Silver Standard up until around the mid 1860s at which point in time they started to adopt the Sterling Silver Standard. American Coin Silver has a 90% Silver Content, and Sterling Silver has a slightly higher 92.5% Silver Content. Pure Silver is 99.9% Pure - That is to say that it Contains No Other Alloy Metals. Some of Pieces of American Coin Silver items that were produced were marked "Coin" - but it should be Noted that many of the other pieces that were produced during that period Have No Silver Mark At All.
