a reference figure for contemporary designers, caccia dominioni has explored the relationship between modernity and tradition during his activity, contributing decisively to the architectural redefinition of milan, his hometown, in the post-war period. Among his most famous works in the city are the condominiums in via ippolito nievo, the san felice district and the redevelopment of piazza san babila. As regards his career as a designer, his most famous work is certainly the catilina armchair, created in 1957. Luigi caccia dominioni won the prestigious compasso d'oro for important projects such as the t12 palini chair, in collaboration with the castiglioni brothers , and the super door. Furthermore, he was awarded the compasso d'oro for lifetime achievement for his objective contribution to the very definition of italian design and the originality of its contents.
