Stunning, old Mason’s square, handled cake plate in a rare Chinoiserie patters with two dragons climbing on a large urn or vase , two pagodas in the distance and a floral motif with fruit at the handles and scrolls around the scalloped edge. The colours are a deep purple, mustard yellow, shades of green and orange/red. This plate is absolutely stunning. There is crazing and some discolouration on the front, but otherwise the front looks pretty good. Most of the chipping is on the backside, as seen in the photos. This would be a gorgeous display piece, but could easily be used to serve cake. The markings on the back lead me to believe this was made around 1920-1940. The pattern is quite rare.
