The round black lacquer box is decorated with a beautiful scene in gilt painting.
The lid of the box painted in the shanshui style, with an idyllic outdoor setting with river and mountain, Chinoiserie style landscape with architectural Asian decor, landscape figures of women in traditional kimonos, young boys playing near a river looks like a Chinese festival with food offering.
The landscape studded with trees and vegetation, and some small pagodas.
