The leather embossed seats are in excellent condition. Embossing compresses and heats the design figure made into the leather seat. Heated metal with a design that compacts the leather. The grade of leather is imperative to be of high grade. The process is done at a heat of 212-266 Fahrenheit. The leather, heating accuracy, timing of the press and design, all play into the finished product. Leaving the leather almost as hard as the wood it is set into. The white oak and chosen Tiger oak grain for the seat parts are in excellent condition; As are the backs, turned legs, support rails and spindles. All hand chosen solid oak. Very few dings after 36 years of love and use. less

Six (6) White, Tiger Oak side chairs. Created at Pulaski Furniture company in 1988. Custom ordered for my love of the embossed leather seats that Pulaski did at the time. Coupled with a solid antique dining table they were used with. Beautiful use of the Tiger oak cuts for the seats. Incorporated into the chair, to be appreciated by the craftsman and the owner.
Choice cut leather. Chosen to create the embossed seats. (Embossing is the treatment that compresses the leather with a high heated designed metal plate.) It hardens the leather for durability and leaves the design in place. This method gives the seat a long, lasting life. I bought these 36 years ago, as a special order from Pulaski. Purchased at Kormeyers' Furniture in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They opened that store in 1880. A 5th generation family owned business that had only the finest vendors that could be counted on.Pulaski was one of the best furniture makers for the US market. I used them to compliment an unusual French farm house single plank table, from the 17th century, also here on Chairish.
We never refinished or sanded any of the chairs. Simply cleaned and furniture wax was applied from time to time. I was asked by buyers interested in the table. If the chairs were offered too. (They are in the pictures featuring the 17th century bridge plank table) Now they are. Separately, as suggested by Chairish. less
