C.1980s-90s; A gorgeous walnut, rice-carved, 4-poster, queen size bed frame, in a English Colonial style, attributed to Henkel Harris. Finished …

C.1980s-90s; A gorgeous walnut, rice-carved, 4-poster, queen size bed frame, in a English Colonial style, attributed to Henkel Harris. Finished in a quasi brown mahogany with warm cherry nuanced finish details, but a satin stain finish. The simply yet refined details are; a scalloped head board, tired molded edged top, with a center cut-out, and encapsulated a pedestal top center is this turned,trophy-like spindle, mounted to the center. Colonial Style is marked or emblazoned with either English or Americana, or American National iconography with symbolism examples such as: flags, stars and stripes, eagles, feathers, drums, bugles, American heartland symbols, festoons, etc. carved within the body of the wood, such is this detail on the poster beams, which is carved in a Sheraton design pattern/theme. From the 1/4 point where the foot board and head board are eye-level with this section, we can see layered relief carved feathers, which surround the circumference of the post, then continuing upwards about 1/4 of the way up from this section, we stop and are enlighten with more carved, relief work of festoons or drapery work, with feathers or wheat sheaf branches/leaves. Lastly as the eyes meanders towards or uplifts their vantage point towards the top echelons of the spindle carved posts, one can see fluted details, tapering thinner, while ending in a spindle-like top to each 4-poster top, while the base of each leg has molded, cased surround, solid while also grounding the bed. A nod toward's British Colonialism abounds, but Classical American, thru and thru. While there are side boards, (Shown, they attach at each end to sustain the foot board and head board together, this the entire bed frame). Slatted boards for box spring mattress support also come with this bed but, (NOT SHOWN BUT INCLUDED with BED FRAME).
The bed comes apart in 4 pieces; (head board, footboard, side boards, not including the slats for the box springs, easy assembly and disassembling and shipping).
In great condition, well maintained,as all their pieces are.
They have been consigned to our storefront, thus we have been entrusted to showcase them all, as there are varying and far wide scopes of design periods and styles that abound...stay tuned more to come.
This bed has come from multiple residences, as the owners have taken upon themselves to dwindle, re-evaluate design esthetics, and normal changes in interior space planning diaspora.
