This cool pair of Saks Fifth Avenue used window display prop lamps. Exact copies of the lamps from the Carnegie Hall lobby.
Made to scale and the only pair ever made or that will ever be made!

Very nice, one-of-a-kind pair of lamps that came from the Saks Fifth Avenue display windows. To be precise, it was window #16!
Nice pair of lamps that were used in the Christmas window display in December 1990. We spoke with the person who created the window display who still works for Saks. He told us that they created the window to honor the 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall. It was made to scale and these were the only pair of lamps made.
As a rule, Saks Fifth Avenue does not allow their props to be sold, especially from Christmas windows, which makes these lamps double Rare to find!
This is from the New York Times, December 14, 1990:
"Saks Fifth Avenue's windows -- celebrating the 100th anniversary of Carnegie Hall...Six windows along the Fifth Avenue side depict a Christmas concert at the hall. The backgrounds are true to life since the store has reproduced the concert hall to scale."
8 individual bulbs and one large globe on each lamp make these unique. There are 2 electric cords per lamp. One for the single bulb on top and the other for the 8 bulbs that surround it. Both lamps work wonderfully. We tried them with colored lights om the top and it looked awesome!
They are each signed on the base: "Saks Fifth Avenue, Window #16, Lamp Base X DA" and the other lamp base says the same except "Lamp Base Z DB".
We understand that these were made by the prop company but designed by the famous architect James Stewart Polshek!
In excellent working Condition. There is a chip off one corner by one of the eight bulbs and some scratches on the wood base but overall excellent.
These very cool lamps measure 32 1/2" tall and the base measures 9" by 9".
All of our items are being sold in the Condition we found them, with minor flaws because they are either a semi-Vintage or Vintage and may need slight restoration to bring them back to showroom Condition. We sell everything bought from estates directly to you. We do not restore anything. We reiterate that each item we sell is used, and by definition has various blemishes. Most items have the dust of age and could use a cleaning.
