Ci.18th. Century, French Wood, hand-carved and honed, sideboard server buffet, credenza. The piece has a regional, French wine Country, and/or Provence' region feel and look, with There are some design details, folksy at times, but ensconced within the period, and skills and craftsmanship allotted at the time, with the one of a kind, quality of hand, honed and carved pieces of such stature and antiquities. The front corner legs have a quasi, ethnic, and Corinthian-like curly-q tops, while curved feet have slatted, carved, incised detailed markings to the leg fronts. The front facade of the server has,carved, relief front panel doors, with foliage, and cake-dot details, these panels are offset on either end with fluted, recessed sections to the offsetting ends, as well as center front section, dividing the 2-Door front panels. Center flute section extends to include a round medallion carved detail, to base apron, which has a curved, scalloped front base bottom and side surround. The backside as one can see from last image, dates the wood and period, but has a simple slatted back stretchers. The hardware is quintessential French, which has allowances into and/or bleeds into the French Nouveaux period, ending with a key-hole center lock mechanism with a yellow tassel.
This piece has the well-worn patina of age, much used, loved and coveted. It has traveled across the ocean divide to America, and into several, multiple owned residences by the owners, whom have entrusted us to consign and sell this gorgeous patina'd antique.
The consignors which have entrusted us to sell this and the many pieces from the Camel OX Chair and forward listings, have multiple residences throughout the U.S. and a varying of styles, periods of furniture pieces.
