Crafted of solid maple with a … more This desk from the 1940’s is timeless and compliments an array of interior styles. Crafted of solid maple with a deep finish, practically glows in direct natural lighting, exceptionally sturdy and heavy. Great piece for writing or working on a laptop. Each drawer opens and closes as it should and is embellished with turned wood pulls. The desk stands on styled ogee bracket carved legs adding nice touch to a traditional look. No keylock drawers but the left cabinet door has key lock no key, it remains unlocked. Overall, this desk is in nice condition. Desk has surface scratches, minor chips and finish blemishes from age. Owned since about 1957.
My father as a truck driver & mover for American Van Lines during the 1950s. The company also stored furniture for people. Sometimes the stored furniture was never reclaimed by the owners and after a reasonable time, the company sold the furniture. My father as an employee had the opportunity of first option to it. My parents opted to buy a boy's complete bedroom set. I used it growing up. After I had children my daughter used mine. Afterwards, she took it for her children. Only recently, she returned it and my grand daughter used it.
She no long wants this dated piece and I am looking for a good home for it. less
