Description: Antique, French, bronze, figural lion face, fireplace screen, Napoleon III era. This fireplace screen is made of heavy, brass/ bronze. … more Antique, French, bronze, figural lion face, fireplace screen, Napoleon III era. This fireplace screen is made of heavy, brass/ bronze. This isn't like the many others available from the early to mid century. Features intricate detailing of filigree cut-out on the fan insides and outside edges, larger finial and solid latches to lock the screen shut when not in use. There is a figural face of a lions head on each side at the bottom with dimensional scroll leaves and a cabochon at the top surrounded by tiny roses. The screen blades are very solid and so are the slides in which each blade is fasted to for sliding. This is a very solid and piece and would make an exquisite addition to your fireplace hearth.
Measurements: approx 31 tall and 46" wide when opened. 7" wide at top 11" wide base. 6" depth. *May be slightly disassembled for ease of shipping.
