The frames are solid and no repairs / reinforcements were needed. Some scuffing of the frames occurred with age and use. In the pairwise photos, the captain's chair has a representative scuff, visible on the rear right leg. Mid century solid rosewood dining chairs made by Boltinge in Denmark c. 1970s. Fully upholstered seats and curved, upholstered backs provide optimal comfort. The gap between the back panel and the frame provides visibility across the dining room, keeping a sense of open space that balances out the high backs. Similar to Boltinge’s Cleopatra chair, this high back variation has not a single sharp edge.
The frames are rock solid and little surface wear, primarily around the lower portion of the legs. Additional photos available on request. The seats and backs have been professionally reupholstered in a charcoal colored Italian wool from Genoa.
The arm chairs are 3.5 inches wider than the side chairs, measuring 23.5 inches across at their widest point. less
