Commode Transition period (Louis XV - Louis XVI) late 18th marquetry
This piece of furniture is the result of a Parisian work and more particularly of the Faubourg-Saint-Antoine, site famous for its workshops of cabinetmakers, its training centers like the Ecole Boulle.
This chest of drawers is equipped with two drawers mounted in dovetail ensuring perfect strength.
The drawers open with bronze drop handles, the locks are protected and decorated by bronze pieces. This metal is finely chiseled. The goldsmith has been able to highlight his creativity, artistic sensitivity, meticulousness and precision.
The key is posterior to the cabinet.
The lower crosspiece with inward and outward forms called «à chantourner» is also decorated with a bronze piece.
The corners of the dresser are cut called « pans coupés ».
This furniture is inlaid. The craftsman cut and assembled pieces of wood of different essences: violet wood, rosewood to obtain refined decorations, subtle for the facades of the sides and drawers of the dresser. He created a frieze with Greek corners to differentiate the perimeter of the background by tinting it in green for all facades.
The back of the dresser is equipped with solid wood panels so very resistant.
This piece of furniture rests on four sheathed and curved legs called Louis XV feet and decorated with brass clogs.
The top of the dresser is a bright white marble, refined and attractive. It respects the shape of the furniture.
This dresser is made from quality materials and built using ancient techniques: tenons and mortises weld the pieces of wood together and reinforce the solidity.
The interior of the furniture has been cleaned so that the objects are stored in a very healthy and odorless environment.
This piece of furniture easily adapts to contemporary interiors. The dresser will bring warmth, relaxation and well-being to your home. Its creator invites to understand, to establish an intimate and unique relationship.
Its timeless appearance makes you want to keep the best of the past and enrich its history by settling in your home.
