After much work, this piece is in very good mechanical condition and looks excellent from all angles. When we acquired … more After much work, this piece is in very good mechanical condition and looks excellent from all angles. When we acquired the chair, it was worn on the edges and seat, the height adjustment mechanism was stuck in one position, and the wheels were locked up. It was completely disassembled, at one point it was in 17 pieces on the bench. The wood was sanded, re-stained, and varnished, and the legs were painted. All moving parts were oiled and brought back to smooth operating condition, and it was then reassembled. The wheels were replaced, and come to find out our supply is dwindling, so the casters are two slightly different sizes. This is not noticeable if one doesn't point it out, and if the seat is turned so the wheels line up with two in the back and two others in the front, the discrepancy feels nonexistent. The wood is in overall very good condition, from the backrest to the legs. The only areas sound to point out are a crack on the backrest where it attaches to the base, wear on the rear side of the chair at the top of the backrest and some light scratches here and there. The crack has been there for ages and the area is solid. The rest of the wood is damage free and the chair is very solid with no looseness to be found. The metal pieces are in very good shape and all adjustment functions operate as they should. Please see the pictures for further details.
