76757 Antique Persian Bakhtiari Rug, 13'02 x 17'04. Immerse yourself in the regal heritage of the Bakhtiari tribespeople from the rugged Zagros Mountains, as classic elegance seamlessly converges with the sophistication reminiscent of Ivy League style in this hand-knotted wool oversized antique Persian Bakhtiari rug. Woven with meticulous care by skilled craftswomen, this magnificent piece pays homage to the traditional designs and enduring allure of Bakhtiari rugs. The corner medallion design, an ode to Persian craftsmanship, evokes a sense of timeless opulence that mirrors the distinguished ambiance of Ivy League traditions.
Intricately crafted on a canvas of abrashed red, the antique Bakhtiari rug unfolds a narrative of sophistication. A resplendent red medallion takes center stage against a navy blue backdrop, flanked by navy blue pendants that radiate a collegiate charm. Within the medallion, an ivory star flower and palmette pendants are surrounded by rectilinear florals, creating a visual symphony that echoes the Bakhtiari tribe's profound connection to nature.
The corner spandrels, equally elaborate and refined, echo the grandeur of center medallion design, showcasing the weavers' commitment to balance and harmony. The allover pattern, a dance of geometric botanicals and angular undulating cloudband vines, adds an extra layer of sophistication to the abrashed red field, reflecting the weavers' mastery of their craft.
As we explore the lush borders, an ivory Herat border and floral meander guard bands frame this masterpiece with a touch of opulence, showcasing the Bakhtiari rug's roots in Persian traditions. This oversized Bakhtiari rug, a testament to the tribe's dedication and skill, carries the lanolin-rich, durable wool and luminous colors that define rugs woven for personal use within the tribe.
Indulge in the prestige of this oversized Bakhtiari rug, where every knot weaved is a testament to the enduring artistry of a group of highly skilled weavers and dyers. Their commitment to creating a rug that transcends time is as palpable as the lush garden motifs and intricate geometric patterns that adorn this masterpiece. In the grand tradition of Bakhtiari rugs, this oversized gem offers not just a piece of decor but a narrative woven with threads of history, culture, and the enduring spirit of the Zagros Mountains.
Rendered in variegated shades of red, navy blue, ivory, tan, brown, pink and verdigris with other accent colors.
