Bright red wood frame. Amazing, dynamic. This wolf seems to be huffing and puffing before our eyes.
This rare, original lithographic poster was designed by Mourlot with Yvonne Zervos and printed in their Paris atelier. The image is from an oil Picasso painted the previous year. Henri Deschamps realized the lithograph.
Picasso made more than 400 designs for Mourlot. Toulouse Lautrec's made the first artistic promotion with his billboards. Mourlot took promotion to the next level by bringing in artists to collaborate on the poster designs. These posters are works of advertising rather than works of fine art. But in recent years they have become collectible designs, an accessible way to own the work of a famous artist.
