The birch plywood "shell" does show … moreThis gorgeous office chair has recently undergone a partial restoration process featuring new upholstery. The birch plywood "shell" does show some signs of wear such as pressure dings, surface scratches and chips in the veneer at the upper edges all of which can be seen in the detail photos provided. With that said the wood is in very good shape in aggregate and the details such as the two-toned veneer, intricate joinery and stunning woodgrains are not hampered by the minor wear whatsoever. The seat, redone in an intentionally patinaed split grain Italian leather hide, perfectly offsets the rich amber woodgrains of the plywood seat shell and includes new medium density foam for maximum comfort and longevity. The chair swivels 360 degrees with ease and the chrome base shows only minor tarnishing and discoloration which can be seen in the detail photos provided. This extraordinary swivel chair is incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a lifetime more of use thanks to it's new upholstery.
