Presented for purchase is a charismatic pair of mid century marked, vintage pearlescent drip glaze minimalist, square ceramic vases, decorative pottery set by Hungarian ceramist Gyönngyi Kerezsi. Produced in the 1970’s by Iparművészeti HSz (Háziipari Szövetkezet)- Hungarian Applied Arts Company (Home Industry Cooperative).

Gyönygyi Kerezsi( 1943-) began her professional studies at the Ferenczy István Képzőművész Circle and at the Dési Huber Free School, under the guidance of Gyula Kőfalvi and Ferenc Laborcz. She graduated in 1967 from the ceramics department of the Hungarian College of Applied Arts, where she studied under Árpád Csekovszky. She continued to work at the Kecskemét International Ceramics Studio and at the Siklós Ceramics Workshop (1984). Member of MKT (1994). She worked with low-fire materials for a few years, mainly making figurative works, sets and decorative objects. At the International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemét, Gyöngyi learned how to make plaster molds and got acquainted with, and continues to experiment with different high-fire glazes, raku objects and small sculptures. less
