Enchanting, mid century marked Hollóháza Porcelain Factory, Art Deco style porcelain figurine sculpture depicting The Abduction of Europa by famed Hungarian porcelain designer Miklós Veress.

In the Metamorphoses , the ancient Roman poet Ovid told a story about the god Jupiter, who disguised himself as a white bull in order to seduce the princess Europa away from her companions and carry her across the sea to the distant land that would bear her name.
Miklós Veress ; 1956: Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts, porcelain designer diploma, masters: Miklós Borsos, István Gádor, Jenő Kerényi, József Somogyi. 1957: World Exhibition in Brussels, diploma; 1964, 1967: The most beautiful product of the year certificate; 1968: Decoration tenders I., II., III. fee; 1972: Small plastic applications I., II., III. fee; 1978: Pro Urbe Award; 1982: Biennale of Ceramics, Pottery Competition 1st prize; Design I-II. fee; 1986: First prize for designing the Pole Position Trophy of the first FORMA-1 competition in Hungary; 1988: Miklós Izsó Award; 1st prize for the design of the European Truck Competition Trophy; 1994: Ferenczy Noémi Award. He started his career as an art director at the Kőbánya Porcelain Factory, and then worked as an art director at Finomkáramiai Művek for nearly ten years. From 1966 to 1990 - until his retirement - he was the designer of the Hollóházi Porcelain Factory. Since then he has been working independently. In 1983, he worked at the workshop organized by the Mezőtúr Pottery Cooperative, and in 1993, 1996 and 1988 at the Kecskemét International Ceramics Studio. In addition to his design tasks for factory production, he also implemented his own, autonomous ideas. In addition to the design of utility objects, a significant area of his work is porcelain sculpture, as well as large-scale, earthenware, or also making porcelain sculptures and sculptures. less
