About: Vicke Lindstrand (1904–1983) was a pioneering Swedish glass artist and designer, renowned for his influence on 20th-century glass art. He co-developed the Ariel technique with Edvin Öhström, revolutionizing glass-coloring processes. After studying at the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, Lindstrand worked for prominent companies like Orrefors, Upsala-Ekeby, and Kosta, where he became known for his experimental approach to art glass, tableware, and figurines. His work is featured in prestigious institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design. Lindstrand also contributed to public art, creating large-scale sculptures around the world, and his work was showcased at the 1932 and 1936 Summer Olympics. less
