I personally would be quite pleased to have it in our home and not be bother by the chips dings or any missing Veneer. Most of the age these are in areas in the back of the legs. Or in areas where they are not easily caught when enjoying the over all exquisite presence of this impressively beautiful inlaid ormolu French Desk! The back leg chips in the veneer is most likely from the desk being near a heat vent or perhaps a fireplace.
