This Mark Rothko very rare vintage 1998 Abstract Expressionist lithograph print large custom framed Modernist poster " No. 14 ( White and Greens in Blue ) " 1957, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Modernist poster print is published by Design Copyright : The Art Group Limited, London. Printed in England in 1998 in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an Abstract Expressionist artwork image originally created by Rothko in 1957 titled " No. 14 ( White and Greens in Blue ) ", copyright 1998 Kate Rothko Prizel & Christopher Rothko / DACS.
Mark Rothko ( 1903 ) - 1970 ) is an American Modernist painter of Russian Jewish descent. Although Rothko refused to adhere to any art movement, he is generally defined as an Abstract Expressionist. His bold use of color fields make the artworks impressively iconic and highly individual. Rothko is considered to be one of the most important and influential American artists of The Twentieth Century. Artworks by Rothko are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print large format framed Modernist poster print measures 27 7/8" W X 39 5/8" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern recessed detail matte eggshell finish black metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent condition. The poster print is in excellent clean vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and some light minor visible surface wear.
